We stay overnight often in Walterboro and are always looking for a good restaurant. The food at Carmine's was very good, but the service was extremely slow. We arrived a little before 7:30 and did not get served until 8:30. There were only 2 waitresses and the dining room was full. Evidently there was only one person in the kitchen. When I asked the waitress, she informed me that everything was made to order and therefore this was not an unusual amount of time to wait. Over an hour??????

Authentic Italian, homemade with unusual flavors. This is a family run restaurant and not a chain. It is a small, (approx 14 tables) but beautiful restaurant with a full bar and great wine list. Entrees range from 10 to 20 dollars and worth every penny. We will definitely go back again when we are in the area.

We moved from a metropolitan area to Walterboro in 2007, we were delighted when Carmine's came to downtown Walterboro! The food is exceptional and the staff is phenomenal...they go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcomed - the food is authentic - feels like you are in Italy when you step inside - we recommend Carmine's to everyone - friends have driven an hour to dine here - highly recommended!!!

Favorite place to eat period! The service is great with great food and great prices. Food made in house Chef owned definitely not a chain restaurant. This is not your small town restaurant. Step inside and you will think you are in down town Charleston.

AWESOME!!! We have gone twice at the recommendation of several friends. Along with our friends, we find this new in town restaurant a real gem. The staff/owners are friendly and delightful The waitstaff is friendly and makes all attempts to keep you satisfied and well cared for. The food is absolutely AWESOME! The fillet is as good as any premium steak house. The italian pasta is to die for. Menu items are very reasonably priced of of generous proportions. The house wines are reasonably priced and quite good. Parking is on the street or 1/2 block away in the public parking lot. The restaurant is easy to find, as it is located across the street form the town fountain (wall of water). This has become one of our very favorite places to eat out.
