Eastern Therapeutics provides a variety of treatments to promote wellness, relieve pain, and support a healthy body. At Eastern Therapeutics we use a variety of techniques based on the medical traditions of China, Japan, and Korea. These traditions are some of the oldest medical practices in the world originating more than 2,000 years ago. Acupuncture is a key component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). In the TCM system of Medicine, it is assumed that the body is dependent, supported, and activated by an intelligent energy called QI (pronounced "chee"). A person's state of health is influenced by the quality, quantity, and balance of Qi. Acupuncture balances Qi and encourages it to flow freely. If the Qi is able to reach and nourish every cell, tissue, and gland in the body, then the body will have the natural ability to heal itself. Acupuncture needles are sterile, disposable, and hair- thin. People experience acupuncture differently, but most feel little or no discomfort. Some people are energized by the treatment, while others feel very relaxed.
