General Info

In my professional experience, people come to therapy when they are feeling unhappy, stuck or blocked in some way and feel that they have exhausted their available resources and coping mechanisms. My role as a therapist is to serve as a guide to help the client identify and express their needs and wants, as well as assist the client in recognizing their strengths and abilities to heal and grow. I work with clients to help them understand their past experiences and current situation in order to move forward. I am warm, compassionate, collaborative and interactive in my approach. Although I am a generalist, I do have a few areas of particular interest and expertise: depression, anxiety, interpersonal relationships, and multicultural issues. I specialize in concerns related to family relationships, romantic relationships, and the transition to parenthood. I also specialize in working with Asian-Americans, interracial couples, and LGBTQQ issues. In addition to my private practice, I am also a staff psychologist at UC Berkeley Counseling and Psychological Services. I also enjoy supervising therapists-in-training.
