Community Policing is a philosophy " a partnership between law enforcement and community. Today, in addition to traditional programs and services, we have the opportunity to connect with our community via the Internet. Using web-based technology allows us to ensure the communities of Walled Lake and Wolverine Lake receive accurate and up-to-date information about crime prevention and safety initiatives, police programs and services, and opportunities for community involvement.Individually, the Walled Lake and Wolverine Lake Police Departments maintained proud traditions of cooperation and outstanding service. Accordingly, the Departments cultivated a stronger partnership, as well as partnerships with other law enforcement agencies at the State and National levels. In June 2008, the cities formalized a long-standing commitment to cooperation and Community Policing, by signing the Walled Lake & Wolverine Lake Police Shared Services Agreement. Together, we are stronger. The tradition of excellence continues.As a combined department, we remain committed to a professional approach to law enforcement, one which actively promotes and protects the peace, safety, and well being of all who live, work, and play here. Merging the Walled Lake and Wolverine Lake Police Departments enables us to decrease duplication of service, increase efficiency, streamline operations, strengthen investigative capacity, augment training and equipment, enhance programs including drug education and awareness, and provide a more visible presence in the community.
