The Walla Walla Housing Authority is an independent public corporation that provides a variety of affordable housing opportunities and programs to low- and moderate-income families. It serves more than 1,070 families throughout Walla Walla and Columbia counties in Washington. Established in 1972, the authority owns and manages more than five neighborhood sites that are federally funded under the Low-Rent Public Housing Program. Its Housing Choice Voucher Rental Assistance Program provides rental assistance to low-to-moderate income families to secure affordable housing units in the private rental market. The Walla Walla Housing Authority administers a short-term housing program that assists homeless individuals and families with rent in the open market.
