General Info
My interest in healthcare probably stems from watching medical shows with my mom when I was growing up in Wilmington. I loved seeing the impact you can have on people's lives and used to imagine myself in the role of a healer. I gravitated to family medicine because it allows practitioners to form meaningful relationships with patients. \n My approach to healthcare Is one of respect, compassion and care. I believe the relationship between patient and provider is a sacred one. My goal is to build a trusting relationship with my patients, providing them with all the resources and guidance they need to make informed decisions on their health. \n My father is a retired school teacher, and my mother is a physical therapy assistant. They both instilled in me the importance of serving and teaching others - traits that are essential to me as a healthcare provider. \n I majored in athletic training and minored in biology at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. My original plan was to follow in my mother's footsteps and go into physical therapy. But I discovered medicine would allow me to use my love of science to serve the people of my community and teach them to live healthier lives. \n My hobbies include fitness and jujitsu. I was introduced to Pickleball and enjoy playing with friends in social matches and against others in a local league. I enjoy spending time outside biking, hiking and enjoying nature.
