Washington County Veterinary Hospital has been serving South County, RI since 1985. Our professional staff and modern facilities support our dedication to improving and maintaining the health and well-being of your Dogs and Cats. Our promise is that we treat each animal as if it were our own. We offer the following services for your animals: Yearly Check-ups: complete physical examinations, appropriate vaccinations and laboratory testing allow us to maintain a comprehensive medical history of your pet. Vaccinations: necessary to prevent infectious diseases. Sick Pet Care/ Internal Medicine: we maintain currency on the latest in medical knowledge, equipment and procedures to allow us to diagnose and treat your pet. Soft Tissue Surgery: spays and neuters, declawing cats, abdominal and thoracic surgery; comprehensive surgical services are available. Orthopedic Surgery: routine fractures, cruciate ligaments reconstruction any many other bone and joint problems. Cosmetic Surgery: tail docks, dewclaw removal, ear crop specialists for all breeds. Anesthesia: only safe, modern anesthetics are administered while every patient is on monitoring equipment and is closely watched. Ultrasound: our ultrasound is used to diagnose diseases of the liver, kidney, heart and many other organs, as well as, for pregnancy diagnosis. Radiology (x-ray): more advanced than ultrasound for studying conditions of the lungs, skeletal system and abdomen. Laboratory Testing: most procedures are performed in-house to allow for rapid diagnosis, but we also use outside labs for specialized testing or where they are more economical. Ophthalmology: we diagnose and treat the common diseases of the eye. Dermatology: subsequent to diagnosis both medications and proper pet diet are used to treat skin conditions. Dental care: we are skilled in the cleaning and extraction of teeth. Nutritional Counseling: proper nutrition is essential to your pets health. We make recommendations for your pet based upon its medical condition. Pharmacy Services: the pharmacy is modern and well stocked to meet your needs. Boarding: our brand new boarding facility has been completely remolded with radiant heat in the floor of the entire building. The Kennel is staffed by attendants who will love your pet. Dogs are walked outside at least once a day.
