Definitely not a rehabilitation facility. My parent ended up back in the hospital. Weekend staff very poor and no PT services on the weekend in a rehab. facility. Parent left sitting in chair for hours each day. Lost clothes after 2 days.

My family's experience at Scallop Shell was one of caring and compassion. The nurses were knowledable about my mother's specific condition and the therapy department encouraged her to return home better then she was before. I would highly recommend this facility for both nursing and rehabilitation. I would also like to comment on the food. My mother has been in several other facilities and she has always hated the food. She was very pleased with the variety offered here.

I will be honest. Scallop shell is strictly a nursing home 70+. If your looking for a group of compassionate, committed therapists to help aid in the recovery of a stroke patient you love, please do not waste your valuable time here. Please understand they do have some genuine nurses that care greatly for their patients. Not all of them are about wasting time to look busy until pay day. BOTTOM LINE: Under staffed, delayed response in "call nurse", pride injured therapist's unwilling to go even the mile required by their job. Not the way to run a business, especially when your dealing with the future of someone's Life. Please don't take this wrong, there are many compassionate nurses working but the majority makes it not worth investing time and money. I pray for the hearts of the women working here who don't take their title seriously to revaluate their motives and ask themselves "Am I doing this because I love helping people get better or has it just become about making it to Friday?
