General Info
We keep pets and their people happy.Everyone at Wake Forest Animal Hospital loves what they do and it shows. You and your pet will leave with a smile (they can smile; we've seen them!).Walk through our doors with your pet and you'll see what we mean. Our facility includes an in-house surgical care unit, grooming department, covered outdoor exercise area and a separate cat ward. But what is most important is the level of care that you can expect from a high quality animal hospital. Our fully equipped surgical facility provides a sterile environment for both major and minor surgical procedures. Patient's vital signs are monitored with modern equipment designed for early detection of any possible abnormalities with their cardiac and respiratory systems. Only the safest, most up-to-date anesthetic protocols are used, thereby minimizing complications for your pet.Providing proper dental care for your pet not only prevents tooth and gum diseases such as cavities, gingivitis and periodontal disease, but also prevents other more serious diseases and problems that are often secondary to neglected dental hygiene. Our modern dental equipment enables us to perform teeth cleaning, polishing and extracting as well as oral surgery. The in-house laboratory is capable of running a wide range of tests for immediate results, including blood cell counts, major organ system evaluations, heartworm and intestinal worm checks, complete urine analysis and tests for various infectious diseases. We also utilize a local veterinary reference laboratory for running a wide range of other tests and blood panels with a very short turnaround time for results. This enables us to provide more tests at a much lower price with a greater degree of accuracy.Weve taken steps to make our pet patrons more comfortable. Cat nerves are kept a little calmer in our separate cat ward, away from loud, barking dogs. We know that an unhappy cat makes for an unhappy owner. The pooches appreciate our c...

We have been going to Wake Forest Animal Hospital for 12 years now, and have always received great service.
We went to this hospital b/c it was very close to where we were living when we moved here 2 years ago. We adopted a rare breed of dog that was on thyroid medicine. I wanted to get established with him to get his med's when needed. I can't say for sure if it was judgement or lack of experience on the DVM's part, but she only ran a thyroid test when I would have been able to afford the big blood panel since he was new to me. That was never suggested, she ran the one test and we were done. A DVM ran into me at our apartment complex and because of the rare breed she started asking questions. She could see just by looking at my dog that he had a much more serious disease and said I should really test for Cushings. I went to a recommended vet hospital with many DVM's who called it from appearance. After many expensive test's (which we had no problem paying for) our boy was very Cushionoid. I wish they would have seen this too because I could have started treatment much sooner. I will never forget this because we have since lost him. I was amazed at how many other DVM's could see this just by looking at him and how this hospital did not. They missed a big opportunity b/c we spent thousands and didn't bat an eye lash.... and it just shows the basic level they run on.

I wouldn't even give them one star if I could. Extremely uncaring, rude, and unintelligent staff. Went for several years with 4 dogs. Tried to take one in for an emergency one day and was told they would not see her. Will never go back.
