The Visalia Parks and Recreation Department operates under the government of the city of Visalia, Calif., which also operates accounting, fire, health, finance, human resources, information technology, library and school departments. The department maintains more than 40 city parks, waterways and trails. It organizes a variety of programs, activities and special events for individuals. The department offers various sports activities, including volleyball, football and soccer. The Visalia Parks and Recreation Department operates a golf course and community and aquatic centers. The department also organizes several day trips and camps for adults and teenagers. It conducts computer, dance, self-defense, lifeguard, and art and craft classes.
