The Storey County Fire Department offers a variety of fire prevention, emergency medical assistance, rescue, risk management and disaster response services. The department s fire crew responds to fire situations, hazardous material incidents and rescue firefighting. It offers a full line of management services, including conducting annual disaster exercises, coordinating the planning and preparedness activities of the county government, and preparing and maintaining a resource inventory. The Storey County Fire Department also provides training and educational programs in general safety, emergency response and life saving techniques. It is a part of Storey County, Nev., which also operates human resources, public works, planning and library departments. The Storey County Fire Department has been operational since 1850 and is located in Virginia City, Nev.
