- Medical Weight LossThe changes of aging in the face often make a person look tired or worried, with laxity of the skin and the onset of wrinkles adding to the effect of aging. Weight loss and serious illness can cause the face to look even older. Injections of fillers or fat, to wrinkles and to the soft tissues of the cheeks and around the eyes, can restore a youthful and healthy appearance to many patients.
- Primary CareWhenever preparing for any types of facial injections it is important to stay away from medications or supplements that can make you bleed and bruise more. If it can be done safely from a medical perspective, aspirin and blood thinners should be stopped 5-7 days prior to the procedure (patients may have to verify this with their primary care physician if unsure). Over the counter medications such as ibuprofen (Motrin and Advil) and Naproxen (Aleve) should be avoided as well as supplements such as fish oil and Vitamin E. Even if such precautions are taken, it is still possible to bruise after injections, so if necessary Dr Anna can give the patient somecamouflage makeup to help cover some of the bruising.
- Pregnancy
- Labor and DeliveryAs we age, especially after childbirth or after losing and gaining weight, the skin on our abdomen can stretch, our abdominal muscles can weaken and fat can tend to accumulate. Diet and exercise often cannot solve these problems.
- Ear Surgery
- BotoxPatients with wrinkles from facial expression (especially around the eyes and between the brows) are good candidates for Botox. It will not, however, help with sun-damaged sun damaged skin, nor with sagging or loose skin.
- Brow LiftCosmetic blepharoplasty is designed to improve the appearance of our eyes. Blepharoplasty can sometimes be covered by insurance if felt the upper eyelids actually block the peripheral vision. For certain patients, blepharoplasty is combined with a brow lift for optimum results.
- Eyelid Surgery“ I had a brow lift and eyelid surgery with amazing results. My experience from start to finish with the appointment set up and follow up after care went smoothly. I was referred to her by several friends who are healthcare workers and they highly recommended her. She is very kind and her office secretary is always helpful with insurance and paperwork when I have needed additional questions answered.
- LiposuctionLiposculpture, became popular in the 1980's. Fat was removed from areas of the body through a tube ("cannula") attached to a high pressure vacuum. Bulging areas were sculpted into more attractive contours. Since that time many different techniques for liposuction have been developed and are explainations can be found in the links below.
- Breast AugmentationThere are different types of implants and surgical techniques for breast augmentation. Typically Dr Anna prefers saline implants for young women who are planning on having children in the future, and silicone gel implants for all other patients. Saline implants are most commonly placed through a one inch incision along the lower border of the areola, whereas gel implants are placed through a two inch incision in the crease underneath the breast. All decisions regarding type of implant, size and incision placement are made together with Dr Anna and the patient after a thorough explanation of all the possible surgical and breast implant variations.

- Plastic SurgeryFurther information on fillers can be obtained from the different filler websites - Juvederm, Restylane, Belotero (hyaluronic acid fillers) or Radiesse and Sculptra (non-hyaluronic acid fillers) as well as from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery websites. Dr Anna has a personal preference of using fillers made of Hyaluronic acid, as they are natural components of skin and tissue. In the event of a result that is not optimal, they can be dissloved using hyaluronidase injections.
- Face LiftFacelift or necklift surgery is undertaken as an outpatient procedure, either under local anesthesia with sedation (to make you relaxed and drowsy - often done in the office) or under a general anesthetic (at an outpatient surgery center). A facelift usually takes several hours or longer, especially if more than one procedure is being undertaken. If the surgery requires general anesthesia, Dr. Anna would undertake the surgery at the
- Neck LiftUndergoing a face or neck lift is a very individual and personal decision. Your goals, expectations, and concerns are very important factors in helping a plastic surgeon decide on what type and extent of surgery needs to be undertaken. Other procedures such as eyelid surgery or brow lifts are sometimes combined with facelifts, and can be undertaken at the same time or later, if necessary.
- BlepharoplastyYour eyes are one of the first things people notice about you. Sagging eyelids and bags underneath the eyes can be inherited, or can be part of the normal process of aging, making us look tired or sad. Changes around the eye, such as descent of the eyebrows or cheeks, can accentuate these changes even further. Blepharoplasty can correct sagging eyelids by removing excess skin, fat, or muscle from the upper and lower eyelids.
- AbdominoplastyAbdominoplasty can help your abdomen become firmer and flatter by removing excess skin and fat, and by tightening the abdominal muscles. Although abdominoplasty cannot get rid of stretch marks, it can often dramatically improve them by partially removing the stretched skin and by tightening up the remaining skin.

- Scar RevisionOver the last 8 years, Dr. Anna has performed several procedures for me - tummy-tuck, liposuction, neck lift, brow lift, scar revision (left by another doctor!) and facial fat injections. She has the skillful ability to assess even the most subtle physical nuance that, once "tweaked", will produce just the right result. Not too much, not too little, just right! Dr. Anna's intrinsic need for perfection and her accessible and compassionate nature will keep me coming back to her for all my "tune ups". You will not find better than Dr. Anna.
