Have to agree with Jenigirll (...

Love the fact that they don't use hydrogenated fats in their products, and my tastebuds appreciated that too. Bought a doghouse cake (as Stephen calls a last minute, keep-you-out-of-the-doghouse-when -you-forgot-to-order-ahead cake). It was so gorgeous, you'd have thought we actually ordered it and gave them time for advance planning. Check out the exquisite designs featured on their website. The sesame bread is outta this world, as are the cream puffs when they're fresh.

Items are pricey, which makes it a special occasion place, and not all the staff is wonderful, but most are.

The kind of bakery you would expect to find in a major metropolitan city, but in a small downtown...absolutely delicious artisan baked goods that are worth every penny! Don't expect to find run-of-the-mill donuts here, you will find more in the way of muffins, tarts, etc. Gorgeous custom cakes that are as delicious as they are beautiful. Owned and operated by a really nice down-to-earth young couple that maintain a friendly atmosphere...a great place to stop for a cup of coffee and a goodie. Also, they have the best hamentashen that I have ever tasted!

Sweet Life Bakery makes life sweeter!

When you walk into the tiny shop, you are first greeted by the amazing smells wafting out of the open kitchen and then by the staff. It's impossible not to be smiling by the time Stephen or Jill greets you. Though the bakery may boast a smaller assortment of goodies than the spreads that can be found in larger bakeries, it makes up for quantity in the buttery sweetness of the Key Lime Pie crust, in the plump raisins dotting the moist Challah bread, and in the beauty of the elegant chocolate scrollwork on decorated cakes. More amazing than the Free Trade Lattes and cookies is the friendliness and warmth that emanates from the staff and the stoves alike. Stephen and Jill take the time to get to know their customers, often stopping their work to chat with you while you linger over your dessert. Any day that wears heavy on your shoulders can be lightened by a short visit to The Sweet Life for a snack or just for a smile.
