This man deserves no stars! I was referred to him by another pain facility because I can't take pain shots. He is a joke. The exams consist of tilt your head bend over raise your arms raise your legs now go to the waiting room and wait for your prescription. He is a pill pusher. Then when I told him my spine doctor in Columbus had me going for trigger point dry needling and it was taking care of all the pain but my insurance company was not recognizing it as pain management but physical therapy and there was limits on it and could he help me with it he said NO and not to go back to that doctor. Only he could treat me. He wanted me to take his drugs. I stayed with the bismuth route and let his office. The waiting room smelled so bad too. I felt so bad for the nurses. The are so nice.

I first started seeing Dr. Rao in June as well. I totally relate to what the previous patient said. I cannot take norco, it upsets my stomach, and I was on percocet 7.5 mg three times a day prior to going here. I ask every month to be changed back to percocet and this month when I asked, they sent me for a drug test. Of course I passed, but they told me to go because I asked for a med change. They said go have this done then come back and get your script. I was appalled. I went to have the test done and came back for my script. It was for the same thing! When asked why he was giving me norco, he said it was because of another medication I was on, also not for pain. He told me si joint dysfunction is rare, hard to diagnose, and told me I didn't "look like a "patient." I will say he is fast with appointments, but I am still in immense pain, and cannot do anything about it as I am in failing health, and am under pain mgmt. Contract. I have never failed a drug test, and feel I am being punished for being in pain. Anyone else experience this? The staff is friendly, but I feel like a criminal for having a debilitating condition. I'm afraid to say anything, as I am afraid to be dropped as a client.

The first thing I noticed when walking into the office was a smell I can only describe as old urine. The nurses are friendly. Dr. Rao doesn't seem to understand that as a pain management doctor he is actually supposed to attempt to manage pain. I mentioned issues due to my back surgery that were causing pain, & he asked why those body parts hurt. I don't think I should have to be educating him since he is the doctor. He cut me down to 2 of the lowest dosage of hydrocodone a day, when the place that referred me to him had me on up to 4 or 5. He claims it is because of another med I'm on (not for pain). I have seen multiple doctors, and he is the only one who has ever said that. I have 2 rods and 4 screws in my spine, arthritis in my hips, and degenerating SI joints. His exam is "lift your right leg, your left leg, bend forward, bend back, go to the waiting room.".I honestly don't think he would know my name if asked, even though he sees me once a month.
If you are looking for a well rounded doctor, the Dr. Rao is for you. He is a good doctor & a reasonable personality.

Dr Rao is awesome! His staff is freindly, and knowledgeable. Why go somewhere else?
seems to be an understanding doctor that listens to what you are saying
