- The core of any veterinary practice is the doctors who work there. The level of medicine, diligence of care and happiness of the clients and staff is ensured by the respect that these individuals have for their craft. Extensive continuing education and a comprehensive medical library ensure that all of our staff is up-to-date on the latest in emergency and critical care. Just like people, illnesses can't always be solved by a routine visit to the family doctor. Pets have varied and complicated ailments that may require immediate intervention or long-term specialist care. The Hope Center provides the opportunity to the pet owner and to the primary care veterinarian for 24/7 critical care and board-certified specialist consults. All of these departments are located in-house for convenience, communication and to reduce the stress of transport. If your pet is in distress or is unresponsive, immediately take them to the nearest veterinarian. * Emergency and Critical Care * Internal Medicine * Ophthalmology * Oncology * Cardiology - Chesapeake Veterinary Cardiology Associates * Surgery - Veterinary Surgical Center

General Info
Our new facility on Park Street is now open 24/7 and includes every Hope Center department! In 1978, a group of veterinarians in Northern Virginia joined together to create the first after-hours emergency veterinary clinic in the area. The clinic steadily grew and more and more veterinarians became shareholders in the clinic, helping to shape its continued success. By moving to a 24-hour facility and adding specialists, the small overnight clinic has become The Hope Center for Advanced Veterinary Medicine. The Center is now overseen by more than 60 area veterinarians and continues to have a close relationship with their hospitals. See Our Web site www.hopecenter.com for a list of these local veterinarians.

Dr. McNeil and his staff made my husband, I and Molly feel very comfortable and their high priority on our appt day. It was the most satisfying and pleasant time we had at a veterinarians' office in a long time. Thank you! Helene, Sheldon and Molly.
Very clean and super modern facility. Very nice staff, helpful when I was so worried about my dog.
