*A licensed acupuncturist and Certified Oriental medicine doctor in Virginia and Washington DC since 2002; *A physician in both Chinese medicine and Conventional medicine (in China, from 1986 to 2001,16 years'experience in a major hospital), chosen by Chinese government as a High-level(top) physician in Chinese Medicine(1999-2000); *A PhD in Chinese Internal Medicine, and had special training in TCM neurology and Gynecology(in China); *A researcher / scientist in acupuncture and Chinese herbology studies(safety and efficacy), was a NIH fellow in Chinese medicine; *An Editorial Board Member for Journal of Integrative Medicine (JIM), an academic reviewer for CAM research journals, such as Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine (JACM); and book publishers; *An academic consultant for the Center for Integrative Medicine, University of Maryland, Baltimore (since 2006); *A board director in Virginia state acupuncture society(2008-2010)(ASVA); * The founder and president of Virginia Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine(VITCM); Dr. Fan has extensive experience in Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) with a focus on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM)* research and clinical work.
