Mr. Beekman was very knowledgable in asian antiques, particulary Japanese. He helped me procure and price a very rare imperial Japanese staccato flute, and at first I thought the assking price was rather expensive, but he even showed me comparable online prices, and yes, his was a bargain indeed! Great customer service

I have frequent Beekman Place on several occasion and found the most unlikely treasures. Beekman has always been a very personable and pleasant. The one time I purchase a table that I was not sure would work, and although I loved it, it was not quite the right size I made arrangements to return it to the store on the same day and he was more than accommodating, he even stayed late for the return. I try and get to his store at least once a month and am never disappointed.

We purchased on item after Beekman said we could return it if it didn't work. The item cost $175. We brought it back the following weekend. Beekman kept the object and attepted to resell it but didn't refund our money until the following weekend. When he did refund the money, he only refunded $150 because he doesn't do returns and he said that's what the credit card company would charge him. First, we would not have made the purchase if he did not say we could return it. Second, I've never heard of a credit card charging $25 for a refund. Third, he kept the item and tried to sell it before we agreed on the return price. He then had the nerve to question my wife's honesty in the transaction. My family deals in antiques so I know the business. This is unacceptable.
