- ArthritisJoint Injections of the extremities, such as the knees, shoulders, hips, ankles etc. are used to treat the pain that comes most commonly from arthritis. The joints of the extremities can undergo degeneration from constant wear-and-tear (osteoarthritis), from injury (chronic sprains) or from disease (rheumatoid arthritis), thus leading to chronic inflammation and pain. If the inflammation is severe and left untreated, the joint can become permanently damaged from erosion and destruction of the cartilage lining that lubricates the moving parts of the joint.
- FibromyalgiaTrigger point injection (TPI) is used to treat extremely painful areas of muscle. Normal muscle contracts and relaxes when it is active. A trigger point is a knot or tight, ropy band of muscle that forms when muscle fails to relax. The knot often can be felt under the skin and may twitch involuntarily when touched (called a jump sign). The trigger point can trap or irritate surrounding nerves and cause referred pain — pain felt in another part of the body. Scar tissue, loss of range of motion, and weakness may develop over time. TPI is used to alleviate myofascial pain syndrome (chronic pain involving tissue that surrounds muscle) that does not respond to other treatment, although there is some debate over its effectiveness. Many muscle groups, especially those in the arms, legs, lower back, and neck, are treated by this method. TPI also can be used to treat Fibromyalgia and tension headaches.

The pain radiates from the wrist commonly into the third and fourth fingers. The pain is intermittent or constant, sharp, shooting or throbbing in nature. The pain is commonly seen in people who work on computers. The pain is aggravated in pregnancy. The diagnosis is confirmed by Nerve Conduction Velocity test.
- Depression
- UltrasoundThe best approach to a knee injection is the path of least obstruction and maximal access to the synovial cavity, which could be superolateral, superomedial, or anteromedial/anterolateral. The superolateral approach into the suprapatellar pouch might provide a better and more reliable route of entry into the knee joint than the superomedial or anteromedial/anterolateral approaches. The procedure may be performed blindly or with the assistance of X-Ray or Ultrasound. The knee is prepped sterile after the entry site is marked.
- RadiologyIf you are a diabetic, be sure to discuss your eating and medication schedule with your doctor. Please remind the doctor of all prescription and over- the-counter medications you take, including herbal and vitamin supplements. The doctor may prescribe some medications for you to take before having the procedure. Tell the doctor if you develop a cold, fever, or flu symptoms before your scheduled appointment.

- Joint ReplacementIn this case, the doctor injects a bone cement mixture of polymethylmethacrylate (the same cement used in joint replacement surgery), barium or tantalum powder (makes the cement visible on X-ray), an antibiotic, and a solvent into the vertebral body. The cement will harden, strengthen and stabilize the vertebra, and prevent further collapse. In addition to relieving pain, those vertebrae that are weakened but not yet fractured, can be strengthened, thus preventing future problems. Most patients report pain relief within 24 to 72 hours and between 70% and 80% has sustained pain relief.
- Physical Therapy"In most cases, neck pain can be managed with some combination of rest and physical therapy along with anti-inflammatory and pain control medications.
- Back Pain
