The Water and Sewer Department provides water and sewer services for the residents of Vero Beach, Fla. Its environmental laboratory division provides analytical services and information to the collection, distribution and treatment divisions and the customers of the Water and Sewer Department. The gravity sewer division ensures uninterrupted wastewater collection service and minimizes external flows from infiltration and inflow into the gravity sewer system. The department promotes public health, protects the environment and conserves water resources by purifying and reclaiming wastewater generated by the residents and businesses. Its water distribution division performs preventative maintenance and improvements to the water distribution system to assure uninterrupted delivery of water.
