Provided by YP.comI went with a friend today to help her get her mother as comfortable as possible in the facility. She went there today 1/15/14. I was VERY VERY upset on how her mother was NOT getting the care she needs. The room was like being in a hallway, no pictures, very unconfortable setting, no chairs to sit and visit, a 14 in tv that has to be shared with the roommate, the nurse put bandage tape directly on the stitching from a hip replacement from last week, the bathroom sink is coming apart from the wall and will seriously hurt someone if they have to lean on it, the nurses assistants hardly speak clear english and the bed was suppose to had been set up with an alarm so that when she trys to get out of bed the nurses wil hear and it was not done until asked to do so, they put her in the bathroom to use the toilet and just left her there unsupervised and she has dementia and they said they did not know this at that time..........WHAT !!!!!!! I would not even rate this place with 1 star but the site requests a rating.

A relative has been in the rehab center for quite some time. My impression of the staff is that they are pleasant and attentive. The choices for meals seem adequate, however, the preparation leaves a bit to be desired.
What can I say. Although there are some kind and compasionate aids working at the Consulate Health Care Facility in Vero Beach Fl, on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being the worse and 10 the best I would have to rate this place a ZERO!!!! They are terribly understaffed. My ballpark figure may be 1 aid to every 30 residents. The people here don't take 2 minutes out of their day to get to know the patient and their individual needs. A well spoken educated resident sat in her wheelchair crying that she wished she had died long ago and is soooo unhappy. An employee phoned us to find out what activities our loved one enjoyed who she admitted couldn't be woken up and was not responding. They ignored most every request and bit of informative info we tried to give them re our loved one. For the ENORMUS pricetag they charge you'd hope for a bed with a matress thicker than a few inches. They tell you your love one is being fed and eating fine when they aren't even concious. HATE SOMEONE? SEND'M HERE!!!!
