i.So, I just came back from the Gary Rome kia of Enfield. Seems that I have this problem with my transmission on my 2011 Kia Rio. Let me explain. In February I took my car to Farm Car Care for a routine flush. Two months later(April) I returned to Farm Car Care, complaining of transmission leaks and Mikes crew told me to drive the car as usual, that it would leak until the pressure was normal. This was said in front of a witness. Turned out to be bad advise. At the end of June I ended up going back again to Mike again, and telling him that Kia had looked at my car and told me it was leaking everywhere, and that I could not drive it and needed a new transmission. Mike said, "There was one little leak, and worst case it needed to be resealed at the tranny pan". wrong again. Kia, fixed this (have paperwork) and they showed me the remaining leaks. This included the rear seal and the seal located by the speed sensor. Kia stated while the seal by the speed sensor could be repaired, they could not repair the rear seal, and they stated I needed a new transmission. It is Kias opinion that overfilling was the cause of the 3 seals breaking. I reported this back to Mike, and his response was that he had no clue as to what I was talking about. Other comments were "I'm suing Kia (for what???)" , and "game on". Is this some kind of joke?? I have 2200 reasons why not to laugh (cost of a new transmission)Mike and his crew have admitted more than once to over filling the transmission to more than one person. No one other than Mike and his crew have ever touched the car .The car had no issues prior to him touching the car. The time line supports the over flow theory (February-April-June). and I routinely checked and saw the stick registering overflow. I didn't know this was a problem, as I am not a mechanic, and Mikes crew told me not to worry. I am a safe and careful driver, nothing but normal wear and tear on this vehicle. 3 seals at the same time??? Sounds like an overfill problem/ too much pressure issue to me and Kia. Ok Mike, Rockville court house here I come.e., A local favorite, or highly recommended because

Dropped off vehicle for a simple oil change and tire repair today. No call to say car was ready, doors locked and everyone gone. Yeah, great customer service. I am now without a car till Monday when they reopen. Why leave a cellphone number?

Very unprofessional establishment...not clean and very messy. Mechanics are definitely not properly dressed and the office staff very cold and unfriendly - not great in customer service in person or on the phone. I was not impressed with service and will not be back. They need to get with modern times and upgrade everything...

got a flat tire close to this shop. stopped in to have it fixed and waited and waited and waited. a man behind the counter on a personal call and another talking sports with customers..a lady came out and went to register and never acknowledged me and left to go out back . guys came out for items and after 25 minutes I left and went down the street to another place. don't know if it made a difference if I was male or female - noone bothered at all. won't go back there again

I needed my brakes checked because they seemed noisy. so I looked in the telephone book and found this local company listed. I called to ask how much of a notice would I need to have them checked and the woman on the phone sounded like I bothered her when I called and was very abrupt and unfriendly...I said I would call back later then called another garage that was more friendly and took me the next day and repaired my brakes...if you want new business it would be nice to have a courteous staff working for you.

I also had a bad experience at this place. mechanic checked my squeaky brakes, took my tires off , checked brakes, nothing wrong and put my tires back on...then when i left about a half a mile down the road my wheel started shaking, I pulled over and saw my tire partly off with 2 lug nuts missing...willnot go there again. went back and maneger told me I should of drove slower..

I gotta say, not everyone's experience is similar. I see some really frustrated posts, and some glowing posts. I have to say though, this is hands down the best independant garage in the metro hartford area. They always comp me on routine computer tests, and when something is wrong they tell you EXACTLY what is wrong, how much it will cost, and whether or not you want new or used parts. I have never received an unreasonable estimate from Farm Car Care, and thats rare. They're timely, and affordable. On top of all that, the owner is one of the nicest dudes I have ever met (and im not talking nicest mechanics ive ever met, no this dude takes care of you), and really values the customers. I've used them countless times, and they have not once overcharged me and any disputes are handled quickly and painlessly. I'd highly reccommend this garage, and when you think about the bad reviews here, what garage doesn't have a few? No ones perfect, but these guys are really decent and trustworthy.

Had an emissions test done and my car failed becuae of no communication went to he toyota dealer and they said it would cost 109.00 for a diagnosis and then plus whatever parts it needed. The guy at Farm Car Care said not to let them charge me that much.I went back , they helped me put in a fuse and charged me 1.99 $ thats right one dollar and ninety nine cents. These guys are fantastic.... Dont go to the toyota dealer (the one closest to them)

I was not happy with cleanliness of shop - cluttered and dirty and a complete mess. Left my car for the day and was not done until two days later. Manager was always on the phone with personal calls and no help at all - none of the others at service desk even attempted to assist people. will never go back. from Ellington
This shop has equipment which is not adequate to identify a defective new tire before it would be out of warranty. The shop will send you out the door with platitudes and no documentation to prove that you were ever there. And when your tires become a real problem, their tire testing machines still won't be able to identify the defective tire/s. So they will, again, send you away with platitudes- and no documentation. And if you push the issue and file a complaint, they get really nasty while singing a sweet tune to the Better Business Bureau. This was my experience. Demand documentation on every visit because they're not doing you any favors, follow-up on any problems immediately, don't hesitate to contact the BBB, and also the DMV if they tell you the problem is in your head. Also take a recording device- lay it on their counter and ask them if they consent to recording their business with you. Caveat Emptor (Buyer Beware)
I wandered in to Farm Car Care over 11 years ago, in the midst of an automotive crisis. The owner not only accomodated me and my husband, but did so with charm and good humor. Since then, I have trusted this business with all of my automotive problems, large and small and have never been disappointed. Most notable is the fact that the owner never tries to push an unnecessary repair, and in fact, always does his best to save the customer money, if he can possibly do it. His employees are courteous, polite and charming. I can especially recommed this business to women, since they are never made to feel uncomfortable, or treated as less deserving of good service than a man would be. From an oil change, to new tires, this is the place to go.
