Don't get me wrong, the Harbor Community Church in the city of Ventura is very supportive of those in need; however, on my first day of receiving support in the way of food and personal care items, I asked one of the primary workers if it would be all right for me to take a towel as I did not have one. She was very kind and said yes. Later that morning as I was about to leave, I had a question about the sack lunches. I attempted to ask a worker/volunteer about the sack lunch, only to be cut off by him and accused of taking/stealing the towel he saw in my bag. I was totally surprised by his accusation and aggressive attitude. He attitude was hard and ugly. Such a shock to me as everyone had been so kind and helpful. And to be so rude to someone new, to someone who is trying to learn and understand the policies is simply unacceptable. I feel like this man has no kindness in his heart and has no faith in those he has chosen to help. His negative projection is of no help or benefit to anyone. In response to his hostile (not exaggerating) accusation, I simply told him the truth and that instead of being aggressive with me, he should take the issue up with his co-worker and his attitude was unacceptable. He then turned his back on me and walked away. What class. Neither he nor a co-worker to whom I related the incident offered an apology to me. Shame on them.
