Paddys... Hmmm.... Well, lets start by saying I am bi/gay. Ventura, being the backwater conservative town that would make a southern Georgian cringe that it was too conservative is . home to a gay community. A very large one at that. But being such a conservative town, along with Ojai, Oxnard, and Camarillo, doesn't make a very hospitable environment for the Gay community. When along comes Paddys. A small hole in the wall, fostered from an old baker from turn of the century, It has become quite a very nice brick and mortar, comfortable place for us LBGT people to just come over & be ourselves without having to hide our identities. Its been a long time coming and damn well needed. Thank you to the owners! I love this place. The staff is phenomenal, caring and just damned well nice people. You hardly ever have to wait very long for a drink. You can walk up to anyone and just start a conversation without even knowing their name, and you are welcomed without reservation. Its a great place!
