- OphthalmologyDr. Zagelbaum is the founder of New York Ophthalmology, P.C. He is an associate professor of ophthalmology at the Hofstra North Shore - LIJ School of Medicine and North Shore University Hospital where he is an attending consultant and surgeon. Dr. Zagelbaum has authored numerous ophthalmology and medical related publications and has written chapters for prestigious textbooks such as Duane's Clinical Ophthalmology, and Albert and Jakobiec's Principles and Practices of Ophthalmology. He has also authored the textbooks "Sports Ophthalmology", and "Ophthalmic Surgical Principals".
- Laser Eye SurgeryDr. Bruce Zagelbaum grew up in Queens, New York where he attended Queens College of the City University of New York and majored in Biology. He then completed his medical studies at the University of Health Sciences - Chicago Medical School. His internship and ophthalmology residency took place at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center where he served as chief resident. He then was selected to complete a Fellowship in Cornea and Anterior Segment Surgery at North Shore University Hospital / Cornell University Medical College. This included advanced fellowship training in anterior segment diseases and surgery, cataracts, laser vision correction (LASIK), eye trauma, and corneal transplants.
