Located in Valparaiso, Ind., the South Haven Elementary School is governed by the Portage Township Schools. It offers an extensive curriculum for students in grades kindergarten through five. The subjects offered include English language, reading and writing, mathematics, science and social studies. It also provides music, related arts, crafts, and health and physical education classes. It also serves meals to students at its cafeteria. The school has a fully equipped library and media center and computer laboratory. Its computer laboratory consists various computers, a mounted video projector used for instruction and a scanner. Each of its computer has Internet access with a variety of software system and is also connected to the local and wide area network of Portage Township Schools. In addition, the South Haven Elementary School s media center houses digital cameras, video projectors and a digital camcorder to be checked out by staff for educational use.
