Anthony Maffei, MD, FACS, is a minimally invasive bariatric surgeon leading the Buone Mani Aesthetics and Wellness team in Valhalla, New York. He is also the director of bariatric surgery at Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel Hamlet, New York.Dr. Maffei completed his general surgery residency at The Stamford Hospital/Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in Stamford, Connecticut. He was fellowship-trained in minimal access/bariatric surgery at The Institute of Minimally Invasive Surgery in New York.Dr. Maffei is a board-certified general surgeon and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS). He is an assistant professor of surgery at New York Medical College and has been the director of the laparoscopic simulation lab at NYMC since 2008. He has also received numerous teaching awards throughout his career.Dr. Maffei is also a member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.He regularly manages some of the most challenging and complex patients.
