The Partnership had its beginnings in October 1996 when a small group of local business and health care leaders met with the Director of the Community Decision Making Program for the Georgia Hospital Association ( GHA ) to discuss organizing a local partnership that would address the changing health care needs of Lowndes County. This group has developed into a non-profit corporation which includes a 26 member Board of Directors, five full time staff members and a leadership group of more than 40 community leaders. Since its inception the Partnership has raised over $2.3 million through federal, state and local contributions to improve the health of Lowndes County citizens and the surrounding area.
