Guardian West is a designer and developer of plastics. It is a division of Flex-N-Gate, a manufacturer of automobile parts and accessories. Products include pickup truck bumpers, tubular sidebars, towing accessories, heat shields, step bumpers, running boards, wheel covers and box top rails. Guardians capabilities are blanking high-speed coil, robotic transfer systems, deep draw forming, robotic welding, assembly, resistance welding, polishing, chrome plating, painting-E-coat, top coat, anti-ship, body color painting and tool and die shop. It employs more than 450 people and has a plant size of 138,000 square feet. Guardian is headquartered in Urbana, Ill.
