The apartments are nice, and the location is quiet. It’s far from DC, so commuting isn’t the best. The pool is great, but usually full of kids, or closed when I’d want to swim. The management gets things fixed quickly. HOWEVER, I would not recommend moving here. They will lie to your face and then make you pay for it later. I didn’t have a security deposit moving in, so I asked about what that meant for when I moved out. They said I would not be responsible for anything. When it came time to move out they tried to charge me a large cleaning fee. I had someone come look through while I was cleaning, which is what they told me to do, to tell me what I needed to clean. I did everything he said, but was still charged for several routine wear problems that weren’t pointed out to me at the walk-through. They were not honest with me throughout this process, and it was hard to find the manager to talk to her. There is also a problem with parking. They will reserve all the parking places they can, and won’t leave spaces for the residents who don’t want to pay extra for parking there. They don’t communicate well about remodeling, parking resurfacing, etc. It’s only a little annoying, but they also make you use an apartment social network to get information about the complex. The gate breaks often, so you’re either stuck in or it’s open to anyone. They also force you to pay for cable and valet trash whether you want it or not. They raise the rent as much as they can for a second contract. They only care about the money, so residents are rolled over in that, even if they do it nicely.
