Founded in 1969, GSU is guided by the principles of openness, innovation and flexibility. With 60 degree and 22 certificate programs, students of all ages earn the qualifications needed to succeed in business, industry, healthcare, the arts and education. Currently GSU is an upper-division university, with coursework beginning at the junior level, making it ideal for transfer students. In 2014, GSU will admit its first freshman class and open its first on campus student residences. A recent $28 million renovation of science facilities enhances science and healthcare education and research at GSU. Located 30 miles south of Chicago, GSU is the only state university in the region and is proud to offer the most affordable undergraduate tuition rate in the state.
