Jason Smith joined First Command Financial Services as the Associate Director of Strategic Development in February 2010. With 20+ years of Industry experience, Jason has previously held senior leadership positions in sales, strategy, finance, technology and marketing. Previously, he was the Vice president of Product Development, Field Leadership and Strategy at GM Financial. A graduate of the University of North Texas with a Bachelor’s degree in Strategic Business Management, Jason holds Series 7, 66 and 24 securities licenses plus life and health insurance licenses in Texas. Jason is responsible for building and leading a team of Financial Advisors who understand the biggest obstacle to financial security for most people is their own behaviors. His team continually reinforces positive financial behaviors and have thorough knowledge of military pay and benefits. This enables his Advisors to advise clients on how to navigate the Blended Retirement System, properly allocate their contributions to the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) and take full advantage of other benefits. Active in his community, Jason is a member of St. Mark’s the Evangelist Catholic Church. He enjoys spending time with his wife and three children in his free time as well as watching football and playing golf. First Command Financial Services was founded in 1958 by a retired Air Force officer for the specific purpose of improving the financial well-being of military professionals and their families.
