Our home Gallery and Studio here in Underhill has hosted the creation of sculptures for more than two decades. Prior to moving to Underhill, studio space spanned sites in Vermont, New York, and Illinois. Work in Underhill bookended by mountains intrinsically connects with nature, drawing attention from perching cardinals to acting as a lens to frame clouds and landscape backdrops. Working in synch with nature, the sculpture is created within those seasons when the ground is clear from snow. However, it is worth noting that the steel medium pops within snow in a way that offers a pop of shape and form when the snow falls and blankets the ground and trees. It offers an interplay with nature, stretching differently with each season.
