- CrownsA lot of people are familiar with the old process of getting a crown/cap on a tooth. It went like this: After the first appointment, patients would be given a temporary crown to wear for about 3 weeks while a lab made the permanent crown. Then the patient would come back so the temporary could be cut off and the permanent one could be put on. This adds a lot of unnecessary travel and wait time for patients.
