Roof installed by O'Brien & Son failed after 9 years. This contractor made at least three errors when redoing my roof. He did not replace all decking that had been water damaged. He did not properly overlap the roof felting he uses, allowing water to be blown back up and under the lower piece of felt. When working on the roof and they cracked a weakened piece of decking after they re-shingled and left it as is. I did not expect to replace a roof after only 9 years of service.

Had a metal roof installed. I asked Mr. O'Brien if he had installed the particular type of roof I wanted. He said yes. On the day for installation, he did not have the proper tools to cut the metal. I lent him my tools. He did not have the proper tools to bend the metal on site. He used a steel hammer to hammer the metal, scratching and denting the panels. He allowed his workers to drag the metal on the ground, even after I spoke to him, causing more scratching and gouging. He installed the roof crooked. He promised to come back the following week and fix the crooked roof and touch up all the scratches. I trusted him to do so and payed him. Two months have passed. He was rude, to the point of yelling at me in front of his help when I spoke to him about the damage. Then tried to walk away. I have spoken to the roofing manufacturer, as well as the supply house he used about the problems. I had used him in the past with no problems (asphalt roof). I will never use him again.

I was very happy with the roof done on my house. The owner was very professional and the workmanship and clean up outstanding!!! The job only took 2 days, I am very happy with the work done, Would highly recommend Mr O'Brien to anyone looking to have a roof replaced.
