East Texas Medical Center, located at Tyler, is a Level One trauma center providing several tertiary medical care services in orthopedics, kidney transplantation, and cardiac ailments to name a few. MRI, CT, and PET scanning services are available here along with the latest surgical and treatment options including post-hospital care. The medical center has over 500 beds, out of which 88 are allocated for the cardiac care and intensive care units. The Family Birthplace unit has a Level II nursery, two Caesarean suites, and ten labor, recovery, postpartum, and delivery suites.
