Founded in 1985, the College of Continuing Studies, a part of The University of Alabama, offers distance learning degree programs. The college provides courses in evenings and on weekends at off-campus sites, through correspondence study and the Web. Its Division of Professional and Management Development Programs offer programs for managers, engineers, health professionals, and government employees and officials. The College of Continuing Studies provides various bachelor s, master s and doctoral degree courses. The college offers courses in several topics, including criminal justice, interdisciplinary studies, management, special education and educational psychology. It also provides mechanical and aerospace engineering and library and information studies courses. The College of Continuing Studies offers online professional development and safety and health programs.
