Dr. Upton has more than 20 years of experience in orthodontics. In January 2005, he moved his office to the Black Warrior River at 815 Rice Mine Road North. He is married to the former Donna Rogers and a member of First Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa. He and Donna have two daughters, Addison and Amelia. Dr. Upton and Donna are originally from Collins, Mississippi: a small town north of Hattiesburg. Dr. Upton’s undergraduate education began at Jones County Junior College and continued at the University of Southern Mississippi, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science. Then he attended the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, which awarded his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. During his orthodontic residency, Dr. Upton earned a Master of Science in the specialty of video imaging, which is used to predict outcomes of orthodontic and surgical orthodontic treatments. His research was later published in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. Dr. Upton continuously pursues the latest treatment philosophies and technology in order to provide his patients with excellent orthodontic care. He is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Alabama Dental Association, Sixth District Dental Society, and Tuscaloosa Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Team.

This is my second set of braces and I truly wish he did my first set. My first experience with braces was not good. It was rushed and I felt like just another check off the Dr.'s list. Dr Upton and his staff listen to my concerns and truly treated me well. They took their time and really made me feel comfortable. The end results are wonderful and I adore each person I've come in contact with here.
Dr. Upton and his staff have been excellent. They have done a great job and seem to genuinely care about their patients.
As an adult client, Dr Upton & his staff exceeding all my expectations. From consultation, to debonding, each appointment I received thorough explanations regarding my plan of care and progress and time was plentiful for questions. Our community is fortunate to have him provide orthodontic services. The nice view of the river is also an added bonus. I have many reasons to flash my gorgeous smile!!
Everything from day 1 has been nothing but top notch. Could not recommend Dr Upton enough.
My experience was lengthy due to me having multiple sets of braces, starting at a young age. Dr. Upton took me in as a young patient and explained how to take care of my teeth and make them as pretty as possible! He made it a smooth road with no confusion of what to do. It was worth the wait with two years of braces because I now have a beautiful smile!
