Food is OK but way over priced; especially for Turners Falls. The employees leave something to be desired. They lack the customer service skills that would keep me coming back. Recently attended a confirmation party where the cake was purchased from 2nd Street Baking and it was horrible. The cake was very dry and the decorating looked as if a beginner did it. I expected far more from a place that specializes in baked goods.

The bakery is really fabulous and is worth the trip from where ever you come from. (5 Star for the food). The chocolate mocha frosted brownies are out of this world! But it really puzzles me why the employees are so grumpy. I agree with the other reviewer, that they border on being rude. Come on folks! A bakery is supposed to be a fun, joyous experience. At least give us a little smile, even if you don't mean it! However, I don't go there for the employees. My tip is to have high expectations for the goodies but low (or no) expectations for the crew that delivers those treats.

Good pastries, decent sandwiches. Rude employees, I have never gone in and not gotten a cold shoulder from one of the women that works there.
