Kevin Stitt, where he advised the Governor and his Office on various issues related to criminal law, state ethics rules, elections, and administrative law. Prior to his time in the Governor’s Office, he worked at an Oklahoma City law firm where his practice included a wide-range of business litigation and transactional matters. David also served as a Judicial Extern to Chief Judge Joe Heaton in the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma and as a Summer Law Clerk in the Civil Division of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Oklahoma. - Wrongful DeathWith more than 35 years of litigation experience, John has tried many types of cases in state and federal courts, focusing on civil trials and arbitration matters dealing with complex energy issues, commercial disputes, wrongful death and catastrophic injuries, environmental contamination, and insurance claims and coverage disputes. He has been in private practice for the last five years. Prior to that, he was in-house litigation counsel for two major energy companies – Texaco, Inc. and Shell Oil Company. John has counseled a broad range of litigation matters and disputes covering all aspects of the energy business, including onshore and offshore exploration and production, pipelines and terminals, refineries and chemical plants, service station and retail operations, lubricants, shipping, and trading.

At OU, he was on the Oklahoma Law Review where he served as an Assistant Articles Editor and as a member of the Judiciary Committee. He also served as Vice President of OU Law’s chapter of the Federal Bar Association. David earned numerous honors during law school including the Salem Civil Rights Award, the Cole Adwon Scholarship, the Alan & Anita Holloway Scholarship, the Oklahoma Scholars Scholarship, and Best 1L Appellate Brief. Prior to entering law school, David worked for several years as a Field Representative.
