Golden State Family Services is a nonprofit corporation. It provides a range of ambulatory services for children up to the age of 17. The corporation is licensed by Community Care Licensing through the California Department of Social Services. It maintains a location in Visalia, Calif., and operates Golden State Foster Family Agency, which is a nonprofit therapeutic foster family agency. It provides a range of social services to children and on-going training, recruitment and support services to foster families. The agency offers various treatment programs for the victims of behavioral disorders, abuse and abandonment. In addition, Golden State Foster Family Agency provides therapeutic assistance, psychotropic medication assessment, and physical, emotional, sexual and drug abuse counseling services, as well as parenting classes.
