Founded in 1950, Howell Elementary School has enrollment of more than 300 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Located in Tucson, Ariz., the school is affiliated with the Tucson Unified School District. Its curriculum includes English, social studies, science, mathematics, physical education and language arts. The school also teaches vocabulary, reading and writing skills to students. Howell Elementary School organizes several events, such as science day, concert caf and spring carnival. The school runs several programs, such as opening minds through the arts, balanced literacy, project shine and literacy assistance programs. It has a parent-teacher association that is active in organizing many fundraising activities and programs.
