Located in Tucker, Ga., Idlewood Elementary School teaches students in prekindergarten through fifth grade. The school s curriculum includes English, reading, math, science, music, language arts, computer and physical education. It has a staff of approximately 85 full-time certified teachers and has an enrollment of more than 700 students. The school has business partnerships with Chick-Fil-A, Applebee's and Longhorn. It organizes several extracurricular activities, such as a book campaign parade, story presentation and craft fair. The school provides meal, medical and transportation services to its students. It maintains a parent-teacher association that assists in the library media center and with book fairs and serves as classroom parents. Established in 1967, Idlewood Elementary School is governed by DeKalb County School System.
