  I grew up in the Detroit area but traveled to the University of Utah for my undergraduate studies, where I graduated cum laude. I returned to Detroit and received my Medical degree from Wayne State University. I received my specialty training in Ophthalmology at Sinai Hospital in Detroit.
• Laser Eye Surgery
  The ideal candidate for LASIK is over 18 years old, with stable vision and healthy eyes. A screening appointment will evaluate 10 factors to determine if you are a good candidate for LASIK surgery. If you are a candidate and decide to have LASIK, detailed measurements will be gathered in a second appointment so that the optimal results are obtained during the LASIK procedure.
• Cataracts
  A cataract is a clouding of the natural lens, the part of the eye responsible for focusing light and producing clear, sharp images. For most people, cataracts are a natural result of aging. In fact, they are the leading cause of visual loss among adults 55 and older.
• Cataract Surgery
  As policeman I wanted to be rid of the hassle of glasses. My vision after the surgery is great. An added benefit is rarely losing the ball when I’m playing golf. My golfing buddies tease me and say I have bionic vision. I have so much confidence in Dr. Sklar that I referred my mother and father to him for cataract surgery.
