Organized in 1952, the Troutville Volunteer Fire Department is an all-volunteer fire department that serves an area of more than 55 square miles and a population of over 10,000 people. It provides fire protection, rescue and first response services for medical emergencies. The department serves Southern Botetourt County in Virginia. The Troutville Volunteer Fire Department serves subdivisions, large industrial parks, shopping centers and multifamily dwellings. It maintains a team of firefighters and support staff members. The department operates several fire stations equipped with emergency apparatus, fire engines, booster trucks and tenders.
