We offer legal services in both Michigan and Wisconsin. Our primary practice areas consist of business planning, estate planning and trust and probate administration. Access and affordability have made it difficult for many to receive the legal assistance required to properly provide for their loved ones. Heather Blanton-Dykstra, JD, CDFA, is a practicing attorney with over twelve years of legal and financial expertise and brings her clients a wealth of experience in probate, estate planning, trust administration and litigation, and business planning. Heather is licensed to practice law in both Michigan and Wisconsin. She was an associate attorney in Traverse City with the law firm of Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge from 1999-2005. In 2005, Heather joined the Kiessel Rivard Group of Robert W. Baird to work with their high net worth clients. Heather has also obtained the designation of Certified Divorce Financial Analyst™. This designation focuses on the tax and planning issues affecting divorcing parties. Heather helps clients with divorce financial settlements and separation agreements, from the tax and financial perspective. She also determines the tax consequences of any property transfers involved and helps set an appropriate level of alimony and child support. Heather earned a BA in Political Science from Hope College and a JD from Rutgers School of Law. Heather is actively involved in the community, serving as Treasurer on the Executive Board for the Women's Resource Center and is a member and Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Traverse Health Clinic. Heather is a past member of both the Traverse City Sunrise Rotary Club and the Twilight Rotary Club. She also previously served on the Board of Directors for Girl Scouts of Crooked Tree and on the finance committee for the local Habitat Chapter. Heather has served as vice president of the Grand Traverse Women Lawyers’ Association and also sat on the Grand Traverse-Leelanau-Antrim County Bar Association’s Board of Governors. In 2008, The Traverse City Business News named Heather as one of their "40 Under 40" recognizing her as a "natural born leader" and in a position of "importance, influence and power."
