- Dental Examination
- X-raysWith regular dental check-ups your child will become more and more comfortable in the dental office. At each periodic exam a member of our professional team will go over the child’s medical and dental history, examine their teeth and all of the surrounding soft tissues, as well as check the bite and jaw alignment. Dental x-rays may be taken to check for tooth decay, infection, or to evaluate developing teeth and underlying bone. When your child is old enough, we’ll perform a professional dental cleaning to eliminate any plaque or debris that has accumulated between the teeth or in hard to reach places. A topical fluoride treatment is oftentimes performed after the cleaning. This serves to strengthen the teeth by re- mineralizing the small imperfections in the tooth enamel. Topical fluoride is a safe and effective way to combat tooth decay.
- Oral Cancer Screening
- Teeth CleaningAt the office of Great Lakes Dental Group, we emphasize taking a preventive approach as the best way to maintain a healthy, beautiful smile. By coming to our office as recommended for checkup visits and routine care, we can help every member of your family prevent both the onset and progression of many oral health problems. As skilled and experienced providers of care, we offer a comprehensive preventive program, including examinations, professional teeth cleanings, and oral cancer screenings, along with patient education on hygiene, diet, and healthy practices.
- Fluoride TreatmentPreventive care begins at home, with brushing, flossing, and limiting your consumption of sugary foods. These steps prevent plaque buildup and the harmful byproducts of bacteria that reside within the dental plaque from damaging your teeth and gums. However, it’s essential to keep in mind that good oral hygiene, a nutritious diet, and a healthy lifestyle are not all there is to maintaining optimal oral health. Routine dental checkups and professional cleanings are needed to ensure that your smile remains in tip-top condition and that any developing problems receive the prompt care they require. And, because children are especially vulnerable to developing cavities, we offer dental sealants and options in dental fluoride treatments or supplements as an added level of protection to shield their teeth from decay.
- Dental SealantsAfter your child’s permanent molars and premolars come into place, we typically recommend the placement of dental sealants. Sealants act to protect the vulnerable areas of these teeth from the bacteria and acids that cause decay. Dental sealants are quite strong and can last for several years, never the less we’ll evaluate them at dental check-up visits to make sure that they are intact and reapply as needed.
- Fillings
- VeneersAs the most requested dental veneer system in the world, Lumineers® by Cerinate can quickly and comfortably transform an imperfect smile into one that dazzles. Ultra-thin porcelain facings that are placed over your existing teeth, Lumineers are a painless, permanent cosmetic solution for stained, chipped, discolored or misaligned teeth.
- CrownsThere is no need to despair if you have a tooth that is broken, cracked, chipped, discolored, misshapen, or one that has been weakened due to advanced tooth decay. We use the highest quality of dental ceramic materials to fabricate crowns that are aesthetically pleasing, durable, and long-lasting.
- BridgesWhen teeth are missing, a series of changes that can impact your overall dental health and jaw function may begin to develop. The adjacent teeth may start to drift or tilt into the space, and teeth in the opposing jaw may start to shift toward the area of the missing tooth. It is therefore, essential to replace either the single tooth or multiple teeth that are missing from this area. One of the best options to prevent the consequences of shifting teeth and to restore full function to a small edentulous section in the mouth is a dental bridge.
- Dental BondingAlso, as explained before treatment, teeth whitening procedures do not change the color of existing fillings, crowns, bridgework, or dental bonding. If this issue presents an aesthetic concern, we can discuss replacing a restoration.
- Restorative DentistryWhatever the case may be, patients can feel confident that the look, feel, and function of their smiles are in the best of hands at our office! We’re experts in the field of cosmetic and restorative dentistry and proficient in all methods of tooth restoration and replacement. From the fabrication of partial or full dentures and fixed bridges to the full range of options in implant dentistry, we understand the complexities of achieving facial harmony and balance, creating an aesthetically pleasing smile, and establishing an optimally functional bite.
- Root Canal TreatmentRoot canal therapy is a very common dental procedure. According to recent statistics in the United States alone, almost 41,000 root canals get performed every day, with close to 15 million done each year. Because it has a high success rate, a root canal procedure is considered one of the most effective methods of saving and retaining a tooth that has been severely compromised by dental decay or injury.
- DenturesWhether from disease, malnutrition, genetic disorders, or an accident, it is occasionally necessary for patients to have some or all their upper and lower teeth extracted. While this can be upsetting news, partial or full dentures can be fabricated to restore an attractive smile, provide needed support for normal facial contours, and reestablish a highly functional occlusion.
- Dental ImplantsDental implants offer a highly effective, long-term solution for replacing missing teeth to reestablish a fully functional and attractive smile. With a wide range of applications, dental implants can be used to replace a single tooth, multiple teeth or all of the upper and/or lower teeth.
- Oral Surgery
- Maxillofacial SurgeryDue to his excellent performance, he was admitted to a three-year residency program in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. During this curriculum, he mentored and taught several medical, dental and nursing students and performed surgeries in dental, medical and cancer hospitals, in local and general anesthesia. His research was in "Surgical & Non surgical treatment of Submucous fibrosis” in adults, adolescent and very young Children. He then got married and soon immigrated to USA.
- Tooth ExtractionsA complete denture refers to the replacement of all the teeth in a dental arch. It can be inserted in either of two ways. It can be inserted some weeks after the extraction sites, and other surgical procedures have had a chance to heal, or as an “immediate” denture placed the same day the last remaining teeth are extracted. Although an immediate denture offers the advantage of not having to go without teeth for any length of time, it can require multiple adjustments as the tissues remodel and heal following dental extractions or other surgical procedures.
- Bone GraftingThis remarkable technique requires only 4 implants in either the upper or lower jaw to support all the replacement teeth for that dental arch. All-on-4®* typically involves only one surgery to place all the implants, avoids the need for additional bone grafting procedures, and provides the instant gratification of receiving a full set of temporary teeth immediately on the same day as the initial procedure. As a permanent fixed replacement for all the teeth, the All-on-4 dental implant technique achieves unprecedented results with a minimal number of dental implants and surgical procedures, thereby making it an appealing cost-effective solution for permanently replacing a full set of teeth. Once post-surgical healing is complete and the All-on-4 dental implants have fully integrated with your jawbone, the temporary bridge is permanently replaced by your customized final bridge. These new permanent replacement teeth are completely secure and stable and function in a similar fashion as natural teeth.
