Dr Powell was our dentist of choice for 7 years while our family lived in Baltimore. I took my 3 year old twins to Dr. Powell and he was excellent with young children. He was very calm and explained everything to the twins so that they were not afraid during their examination. My kids were VERY active and Dr. Powell was skillful in getting them to participate in a constructive way during their dental exam. I also saw Dr. Powell for my dental needs and he did a super job of keeping my teeth in good condition. He was responsive to phone calls about concerns and was available during a weekend emergency. I highly recommend Dr. Powell.

Dr. Powell is honest, professional, highly skilled, and most of all beyond personable. I can't say enough great things about his practice. He always makes me laugh and is one of those rare people that truly goes beyond to help other people. Besides being a gifted dentist he is also just a good person. He always talks me though all my options so I can make the right decision. His receptionist is also very kind.

My family and I have been going to Dr. Powell for so many years I have lost track. I used to be so afraid of going to the dentist but now I am proud to say that I actually look forward to visiting Dr. Powell because I never leave without a smile on my face. The many procedures that I have had done reflect his immaculate skill as a dentist. He is professional yet immensely kind and energetic. In addition, I have never once had to wait more than five minutes for my appointment. He explains all options for procedures in a way that is very easy to understand. Dr. Powell has even seen me for emergencies and goes out of his way to help others. Overall Dr. Powell is a skillful, intelligent, honest, and personable dentist. I can't recommend Dr. Powell enough (if I could give him more than five stars I would) In my eyes it would be simply untruthful to write Dr. Powell anything less than a perfect review. (and I know my family and friends that are also patients also agree)

Dr. Powell is the greatest. I've been going to him every six months for 11 years now, and plan to continue doing so. I've never walked out of his office without a smile on my face. He, and his receptionist, are very friendly and welcoming. I've never met anyone who can speak so highly of their dentist, but there isn't a bad thing I could say about him. There's never a wait once I arrive, and the visit itself is always comfortable (even while he's doing his work!) He's also got an office in Columbia he works in a few days a week, which is actually closer for me. If you're looking for a new dentist, I'd highly recommend him.

Dr. Powell has been my dentist for many years and I have sent many friends and family members to him. He is a highly skilled dentist who provides preventative sixmonth care but can also do root canals, extractions, crowns, bridges, and who knows what else. He is very respectful of his patients needs as well as their time and has reasonable prices.

(1) Dr. Powell and his staff are responsive and pleasant. Having only once waited more than 5-minutes after arriving on-time for an appointment before being seated in the exam chair and seeing the doctor, it appears Dr. Powell is one of the few remaining doctors who does not double-book appointments. The one time my appointment was delayed (only 15 minutes) was because Dr. Powell was rendering emergency medical care to another patient. (2) Dr. Powell listens effectively to concerns, answers questions in a manner easily understood by persons without medical backgrounds, and takes time to explain dental options and trade-offs to help his patients select particular treatments best suited to their individual (rather than the doctor's) needs - as every patient has different goals (e.g. highest probability of saving a tooth, vs. lowest cost, vs. number of appointments required to effect the opted solution). (3) With respect to aesthetics; The results of Dr. Powell's work reflect high skill.

Saw him on a sunday night. I was having sooo much pain i was crying at home. been crying since 5pm or a little earlier. Called emergency dentist but the dentist in baltimore wouldn't see me so i told the lady i was willing to drive and as soon as she said she'll pag a different doctor, Dr Powell called me back so quickly at 9pm and said he'd meet me in his office at 9:30p. i was a little late cuz the beltway was congested. but i he called to check if i was ok and when i got there. OMG, he is the friendliest. He really, made me feel very comfortable in that chair and the first thing he did was numb that tooth from hell. Blessed Heavens! He did his best to save that tooth and now i'm going back to have it filled. I was looking for a dentist and i now i've found one. I plan on keeping him as my regular dentist. I would recommend him anytime.
