I owe a great deal to David Hubschmitt. He asked me the right question at just the right time. I came from a very dysfunctional family, and had spent time in mental hospitals because of it. During one visit to him, David said to me: "_________, your family is NUTS! What are you going to DO about it?" I replied, "I am going to find myself a NEW family, one that will love and respect me, rather than drive me crazy." I have done so. I have gone from being a crazed, hopeless, directionless individual, to being happily married, with a real purpose in life. But I cannot leave out a far greater part of the puzzle of my life: I found grace in Jesus Christ, our Saviour. Without Him and His Word, I would never have known peace and real joy.With regard to David Hubschmitt, though, he is the real thing: a psychologist who can truly help people. That is, unfortunately, very RARE among psychologists.
