Susan received her doctoral degree from the University of Connecticut in 1981. While pursuing her Ph.D., she was awarded a research assistantship in the Bureau of Educational Research. Shortly after, she was named an Associate Professor, teaching research methodology at the graduate and the undergraduate levels. She has also taught management, marketing and program evaluation courses. Dr. Carroll established Words & Numbers Research, Inc in 1984. The firm provides strategic information for data driven decisions through surveys, focus groups and in-depth interviews. Dr. Carroll has authored three books and numerous articles published in both peer review and trade journals. She has received awards for scholarship, business and leadership. Susan has been invited to speak throughout the United States on various topics including marketing, healthcare, education, leadership, research and business. ( A complete resume follows this profile. ) David received his degree in 1977 at the University of Connecticut School of Social Work. While a student, David chose strategic planning and community organization as his areas of focus for academic preparation. David has conducted several large-scale program evaluations primarily in urban school systems including School to Work initiatives, dropout prevention, remedial education, peer mediation / violence prevention.
