Litchfield County Association for Retarded Citizens, founded in 1964, is a private organization that offers a range of medical and health care services. It provides residential community homes, supported living apartments, day supports and community services for individuals with developmental disabilities. LARC serves multiple funding sources that include the Department of Mental Retardation, Bureau of Rehabilitation Services, Department of Social Services and local school districts. Its community service programs include educational and family supports, respite, camp, advocacy and social enrichment activities. It provides 24-hour supervision and financial services, as well as assists individuals in living in a community. Litchfield County Association for Retarded Citizens is located in Torrington, Conn.
